At Black Mountain Primary, the students in Ms. Beth Eckstein’s class eagerly await a special visitor who never fails to bring smiles and comfort. Abby, a therapy dog, arrives weekly with her owner, Nancy Goodwin, ready to spend time with her favorite group of kids.

Abby, a small fluffy white dog, has a way of making every moment special, whether it’s listening intently as a student reads aloud or offering a gentle nuzzle to someone having a tough day.

The visits have quickly become a favorite tradition for students and teachers alike. Teachers often notice how Abby encourages some students to open up and try new things. For the students, Abby is more than just a visitor - she’s a friend who listens, comforts, and makes their school experience unforgettable.
