Mother holding daughter as teacher reads a book to everyone.

In the heart of the cozy kindergarten classes of Black Mountain Primary (BMP), where laughter echoed and imaginations danced, a special event unfolded in January.

Students and their loved ones had a magical time when the adults and their little ones gathered for an adventure of page turning books and crafts. This literacy event brought families into the classrooms where they saw first hand the learning that unfolds daily.

“When parents visit their children’s school, it contributes to a sense of safety among the students, ultimately improving school engagement,” said kindergarten teacher Jamie Schaber. “This was a wonderful opportunity to show our kindergarten families the importance of recognizing story elements. We were thrilled to have our families snuggle up and participate in this kindergarten experience.”
