About My Teaching:
This is my twenty-sixth year of teaching at Black Mountain Primary. I began as a title one assistant in October of 1993. I taught kindergarten for fourteen years and loved working with five year olds.  I also taught first grade for six years and the children are just as wonderful! I am teaching second grade now and I am so excited to work with these AWESOME students. There is nothing quite like watching the face of a child light up when they learn something new and have fun at the same time. It is a dream come true to teach young children and I believe every child has potential to learn. Before coming to BMP, I taught at a private school for seven years teaching kindergarten and second grade. I am a native of Asheville and as a child I attended Buncombe County Schools. I graduated from Liberty University and hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach K-6.
About Myself:
My husband and I live in the Asheville area with our 2 little dogs. My husband is a substance abuse counselor. I enjoy bike riding, swimming, going for walks, spending time with family, playing piano/keyboard and of course teaching.
