About My Teaching:
This is my twenty-third year of teaching at Black Mountain Primary. I began as a title one assistant in October of 1993. I taught kindergarten for fourteen years and loved working with five year olds.  I also taught first grade for six years and the children are just as wonderful! I am teaching second grade now and I am so excited to work with these AWESOME students. There is nothing quite like watching the face of a child light up when they learn something new and have fun at the same time. It is a dream come true to teach young children and I believe every child has potential to learn. Before coming to BMP, I taught at a private school for seven years teaching kindergarten and second grade. I am a native of Asheville and as a child I attended Buncombe County Schools. I graduated from Liberty University and hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach K-6.
About Myself:
My husband and I live in the Asheville area with our little dog. My husband is a substance abuse counselor. I enjoy bike riding, swimming, going for walks, spending time with family, playing piano/keyboard and of course teaching.

Buncombe County Schools is in the process of reviewing its website to ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
